Addicted to Darts!

By Ako, September 8, 2010 6:38 am

Another unproductive week for me! When I’m not at home after work, I played darts with my best friend. When I’m home, I am spending my time browsing darts-related video (Priestley, Bristow, Taylor, etc)…

It looks like my fractured shoulder due to accident last year is reacting but I can’t help my self away from this “game of skills”….

Need to manage my time wisely this week. I have target for my CPA projects and other Blogs and I need to focus… I also have a final interview next Tuesday and I really need to take time away from this addictive thingee…. Let’s see…..

LeBron James made the right decision Cavs Fans and Owner are selfish

By Ako, July 9, 2010 9:29 pm

I’m tired reading the news since James announced joining Heat yesterday. Fans treated him like a criminal. Cavs fans are nothing but selfish jerks who doesn’t care James legacy. They want to keep James for what – for more losing years? James is running out of time and he can never get at least 1 ring being with Cleveland. Everyone must remember that Jordan was born in Bronx and not in Chicago – so why James have no right to leave Cleveland?

What was Cleveland before James anyway? Some simple facts:

  • The moment LeBron Joined the Cavs the Team started winning. Prior to that they hadn’t reached the playoff since 98)
  • 1st Season: ROOKIE Season he averaged 20 Points
  • 2nd Season:, Youngest Player to score a Triple Double (AVE. 27 points that season)
  • 3rd Season: King James carried his team to the playoff for the first time since 98, where he was having a Magic Johnson/Oscar Robinson like game, scoring more of those triple doubles. (Not to mention that although he came in 2nd in the NBA MVP voting, Steve Nash winning it that year, in that same year NASH and Lebron were voted co-MVP by the Sporting News Association)
  • 4th Season: Made it to the NBA Finals….
  • 5th Season: 7 Triple Double (7 Triple Double, in my opinion isn’t the act of a selfish player) and Scoring Champ
  • 6th Season: 23 Blocks, 66 Home Wins,)

THE THINGS YOU SIMPLY CAN’T CHANGE

  • Youngest to score a Triple Double
  • Youngest to Score 10,000 Points
  • Youngest to Win the MVP in the NBA All Star Game
  • It took King James 6 years to WIN his first MVP…
  • It took King James 7 years to WIN his Second MVP…

KING JAMES owes Dan Gilbert and the Cavs Fans Nothing….

Fans are whining about loyalty and pride – well loyalty and pride will not put James’ name on NBA Hall of Fame.

LeBron James made the greatest decision of his career by joining Miami. Basketball fans all over the world are happy to know this – except for selfish Cavaliers. Wade, Bosh, and James – let’s get the ring on next season!

Why I’m a proud graduate of CHMSC

By Ako, June 5, 2010 8:05 pm

chmsc logoWhy I’m a proud graduate of CHMSC.

1. “The college is noted for having one of the best programs in Teacher Education for continuously ranking high in the LET”..

2. First batch of CE topped board exam last 2008. 8/8 100% putting UP campuses behind with 2 students on top 10. http://www.experiencenegros.com/two-carlos-hilado-grads-top-november-2008-ce-board/… take note.. it’s the first batch of Civil Engineering.

3. Again, the second batch annihilated UP campuses having 100% landslide victory 16/16 on the last year’s board exam.

When applying for job, those companies who are turning you down because you are from a “non-so-called prestigious schools” are racists and could not have quality people… I hate this practice…

Those parents who are spending tens of thousands of dollars paying for kindergarten, elementary, and highchool in private institutions don’t know the reality… that money can’t buy education…..

But wait… CHMSC has a bigger problem.. they need to maintain this record… and they also need to deal with swarming applicants who wanted to take part of it’s excellent educational programs…..

I’m a Proud Graduate of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College

By Ako, May 15, 2010 9:47 am

Although I’m out of Negros and not practicing my profession as an educator, the spirit of my Alma Matter still dwells inside me every time her name is mentioned. It’s been almost 11 years since I graduated from the school where I spent 4 years of my College life but friends and schoolmates who are still working there are making me feel closer. That was 4 years of most important part of my life.

It’s been a decade since I wrote and edit articles for our school student publication (The Technopacer), as an Associate Editor.

My niece, who graduated last 2008 was the first to tell me that the first batch of Civil Engineering graduates topped 2nd and 4th on board exams. Such good news makes my day. It is a very rare case where a school that offers a program for the first time beat other established institutions. The 2009 result was even better. The second batch of Civil Engineering got 100% passing rate topping UPLB and UP Los Baños (placed 2nd and 3rd), with 16 passed out of 16 students who took the exams. What a great job!

Congratulations to all board passers. You are truly the heroes of our Alma Matter, and the next examples for later generations. Long Live CHMSC.

I remember last 1997 when I was competing for Photojournalism in Annual College Press Conference at Iloilo City, 2 fellow delegates asked me where I came from. When I told them I was from CHMSC, they didn’t even know where it was. Current students and newly graduates should not experience such thing again…. its totally different now!

Batangas Bloggers holds first EB at SM Lipa

By Ako, April 18, 2010 8:02 am

batangas bloggersMy friend Angel Cuala of Fatherblogger.com visited me last night and we had a bottle of vodka. He checked his email through my PC an got an invitation to Batangas Bloggers first Eye Ball. He confirmed his participation by answering the invitation post at wowbatangas.com. Curios, I asked him if I can join since I’m a blogger too, and from Batangas – and he said “why not”, so I submitted my participation too. Early this morning I received a text message from JR Cantos of Wowbatangas confirming my message.

I thought I was late and I did so for around 30 minutes. The program started at around 2PM with 10 members (I think). I’ve been doing blogs since 2003 but I’m always lazy to attend meetings like this because I always think the people behind the program wanted to promote something (which is typical) – but it was different today. The program is simple and there was no special event except for raffle where all participants won humble prizes from sponsors. I got 200 free long distance call from PLDT, Angle got a gift package from Watsons Drug Store, others received various items. It was a short meeting without specific agenda regarding Blogging or Internet Marketing but somehow I got to know fellow Bloggers from Batangas, which I think would be beneficial to every one of us in the near future.

I would like to thank wowbatangas.com for organizing such event, and also the sponsors from SM Lipa for raffle prizes. I hope we can have the same event again in the near future. Whatever your plans about Batangas Bloggers, I will be here to support.

The odd thing was, when I get home after the meeting, my desktop monitor won’t turn on. I know I am about to buy a new PC this year but I didn’t expect the monitor to give-up early. I had no choice but to go back to Robonsons and purchased a second hand LCD for 3,500. Now I have a better look…..

A glimpse at former JMPI/MMBC

By Ako, April 6, 2010 7:20 am

JidecoAfter almost 3 years that I left the company where I spent 7 of my 10 working years, a lot of things refreshes into my mind.. sad, happy, memorable things…

Pareng Jerick and I went to MMBC yesterday to get some of his important papers. We arrived there at around 10:00AM and we stayed for about 4 hours. We had a chance to meet our former colleagues and superiors (Sir Jun, Ate Lea, Willy, and some of our subordinates). We had some mixed emotions. Happy that we see each other again, and sad that we are not working together anymore… But of course we always let time change everything for good…

A lot of things have changed (not to mention the management). There are only 3 Japanese residents (unlike before we had a lot) and the main office (both left and right wing) is empty. We didn’t have a chance to take a tour inside production area (of course it’s not allowed), but we are thankful that most of out former subordinates meet us at canteen and at the lobby.

Others says we are lucky because we are out and at least we have a better (if not the best) life, but I can also say that they are better because they are still working together, in a company that shared a lot in our lives, particularly our work experience. Forget about the salary and compensation, this company is still the best to work with…

You can still feel the friendly faces and atmosphere.

We are planning to get back there this Thursday to play basketball before Pareng Jerick return to Australia this 15th. I hope that plan will get materialized… We are looking forward for the simple but memorable event and I hope Sir Jun and George will take care of the schedule….

Next possible visit will be on December when Pareng Jerick take a vacation again (unless Pareng Jeff have time)…. and if Sir Jun and Willy are still inside….

A Failed Boys’ Night!

By Ako, March 31, 2010 5:25 am

Let’s do it again Pare and next time, make sure everything is well planned…

There’s a lot… but nobody show up! What an unfortunate night but of course there are always second chances… It’s been a long time (maybe 2 years) that we are not doing it anymore so we could not blame ourselves. Everything has changed… Where are our contacts?! What happened to our resources? OMG!

The first problem was the place… after few minutes of negotiation, it was resolved…. We hoped everything will be fine but what a downturn when it comes to final.. no one show up!

Everyone feels a little bit disappointed.. LOL. Excitement turned to disappointment… Ok let’s make a plan… and this time let’s make it earlier and we’ll uexhaust all of our resources…

Let’s not drink and let’s reserve our strength…huh!

Calamba is too far so if we decide to go there, let’s make it earlier…LOL

What a failed Boys’ night!

Why Marriage Sucks

By Ako, March 30, 2010 10:16 pm

Okay, I’m still single, don’t have kids, no girlfriend (at least for now), and no significant others…. But I can tell you that I know how to grow and take care a baby better than most fathers do, and I know how to cook better than most mothers do.. I’ve been a baby sitter to couple of my nieces and nephews since I was in Grade 1. Our oldest sister got married when I was in Grade 1 and since I lived with them for their house was in front of my school, I had to help taking care of their babies… I’ve been a part time baby sitter form more than 2 decades.. I think that’s explains everything…

I am not 100% against marriage (I know I’ll go get married someday). But getting married at younger age is like cutting your life into half. I have a lot of friends and most of them are fathers. At least 3 of them every week asking me to go out because they feel boring, they feel powerless, they lost self esteem, and all other insecurities. I never asked them the same thing. I have a lot of things to do to make my self busy.. My time is not en enough for my self..

What’s the problem then? Marriage is for people who are super serious in life and wanted to take the ultimate responsibility for whatever personal reason they may have. I hate when someone tells me to get married because no one will take care of me when I get old. That theory is pathetic and come from fathers who are losers. There is no general rule that say “one must get married at earlier age because it’s difficult to get along with a younger kid when you are in your 40s and above”.

I have a long time friend who got married at 20. Now he is 37 and have 6 kids in 3 different women (including his wife). Another friend of mine got married at 22 right after college graduation because the girl was pregnant. Now he is 35, have 3 kids in 2 different women (including his wife). So what’s the point of getting married if you are to cheat your wife? They are full of regrets and their disappointments and lack of satisfaction leads to more complicated life by having multiple relationships. They think they can find better relationship with other girls, one after the other. Shows how complicated a married life would be for unprepared people.

I never heard a single man said he is jealous to another man who have 2 kids and has limited life outside. I always heard someone telling me that my life is better than him because I have no boss at home (at least for now).

Getting married should be done only when you know and feel you really want it at the right time and right age. Getting married should have no reason why one should do it. “I will get married because I want it, and I feel it’s the right thing for me to do right at this moment of my life… But telling me that I need to get married because no one will take care of me someday when I get old, or I need companion because I feel lonely, is the dumbest and most pathetic reason of getting married.”

If you want to have a happy life, stay single….. unless you feel you want to have kids…

Sex Stops After Marriage
……some interesting quotes….

“My wife reached a point where she only uses sex to get something, and she doesn’t happen to want anything at the moment. ”

“I walked into a large bedroom when my wife was changing into her outfit to get on the plane to start our honeymoon, admired her gorgeous half-naked figure with a ‘you wanna knock one out right here and now’ look on my face, and she said, “Oh, no. None of that nonsense. We’re married now.” I mean she changed *instantly* from this funny happy woman into this scheming bitch who just had plans to buy and redecorate a big house and throw parties in it with my money. ”

Here is a typical married woman:

“I give birth to your kids and you complain we don’t have sex? How do you think they were born, osmosis? Who takes care of them, drives them to school, picks them up for after school activities, drives them to sports, takes them to their friends houses, plays chauffeur, cleans, cooks, goes to PTA meetings and then caters to your sorry whiney ass when you get home. To top it off after you eat, fart or burp you walk out the door and go out with your buddies.

You want sex? Go fuck yourself! I’m too tired.”

“No more sex. Period. She’s too busy spending my money putting traventine in the entryway, redoing the kitchen with Corian, redecorating the bedroom, having parties, and all that other shit, or talking to girlfriends incessantly about the same. ”

How Women Manipulate You!

“They aren’t insane. They are infinitely selfish and manipulative, and incredibly clever about disguising their manipulation. They think that men are just tools to use and discard as needed.

It just SEEMS like insanity to you, when you see the wild fucking weird shit that they pull on you. In reality they are busily manipulating you, doing crazy shit to throw you off balance and confuse you, so you won’t see through their bullshit. ”

“Women are, for the most part, not well suited to accept reality or to think logically. They will approach a situation with their mind already made up, then they will twist and manipulate the information to validate what they’re already thinking.

So their views on reality are usually messed up. and their process for arguing/interacting is not based on reality, instead it’s based on whatever irrational tools will help them prove their point (screaming, personal attacks, red herrings, etc).”

If you still young, wanted to be happy, stay single……. Don’t let your dick dictate your mind…
