Why I’m a proud graduate of CHMSC.
1. “The college is noted for having one of the best programs in Teacher Education for continuously ranking high in the LET”..
2. First batch of CE topped board exam last 2008. 8/8 100% putting UP campuses behind with 2 students on top 10. http://www.experiencenegros.com/two-carlos-hilado-grads-top-november-2008-ce-board/… take note.. it’s the first batch of Civil Engineering.
3. Again, the second batch annihilated UP campuses having 100% landslide victory 16/16 on the last year’s board exam.

When applying for job, those companies who are turning you down because you are from a “non-so-called prestigious schools” are racists and could not have quality people… I hate this practice…
Those parents who are spending tens of thousands of dollars paying for kindergarten, elementary, and highchool in private institutions don’t know the reality… that money can’t buy education…..
But wait… CHMSC has a bigger problem.. they need to maintain this record… and they also need to deal with swarming applicants who wanted to take part of it’s excellent educational programs…..

Although I’m out of Negros and not practicing my profession as an educator, the spirit of my Alma Matter still dwells inside me every time her name is mentioned. It’s been almost 11 years since I graduated from the school where I spent 4 years of my College life but friends and schoolmates who are still working there are making me feel closer. That was 4 years of most important part of my life.
It’s been a decade since I wrote and edit articles for our school student publication (The Technopacer), as an Associate Editor.
My niece, who graduated last 2008 was the first to tell me that the first batch of Civil Engineering graduates topped 2nd and 4th on board exams. Such good news makes my day. It is a very rare case where a school that offers a program for the first time beat other established institutions. The 2009 result was even better. The second batch of Civil Engineering got 100% passing rate topping UPLB and UP Los BaƱos (placed 2nd and 3rd), with 16 passed out of 16 students who took the exams. What a great job!
Congratulations to all board passers. You are truly the heroes of our Alma Matter, and the next examples for later generations. Long Live CHMSC.
I remember last 1997 when I was competing for Photojournalism in Annual College Press Conference at Iloilo City, 2 fellow delegates asked me where I came from. When I told them I was from CHMSC, they didn’t even know where it was. Current students and newly graduates should not experience such thing again…. its totally different now!
